Thanks for visiting the Virtual Home of

Wildwest Shelties!

Wildwest Shelties is a very small kennel* in Arizona. I've finished champions with AKC and UKC, and I have sent several to Canada all of whom finished their championship there. I've titled a dog in herding and dabbled in agility. My emphasis is breeding Shelties that are easy to live with, beautiful to behold standing still and on the move, and just plain fun to play with. At Wildwest Shelties, temperament and health are as important as beauty and brains.

If you'd like to read more about some of my ideas on breeding and keeping Shelties, check out my page "Articles."

* All my dogs spend their evenings lounging on the couch and on the rug in the house--not in a kennel situation. I keep my numbers below eight Shelties because that is the number that is comfortable for me. I enjoy playing fetch with my Shelties and just scratching them behind the ears as we sit on the couch.

The Latest News & Updates

August 12 Ingrid was lost to us today. Cancer was the culprit. She was a precious Sheltie, so sweet and silly, with a quiet, loving way about her. Unless the vacuum cleaner or mixer was being used. Then, she would dance around barking at that contraption to be quiet and be still. She will be missed.

July 4:  Kisses is now Can Ch Wildwest Besos de Shelgrande! Woohooo!!!! Kisses is the 5th Canadian Champion for her dam who now is Can Ch Shelgrande's Annie Banany ROMC!!!

June 12:  Can Ch Olé was RWB under Rev Dr. Ormos at Flagstaff KC

June 11:  There's a new man coming to town!  Well, actually just a puppy right now, but I am very excited to add this "ridiculously cute" (my daughter's description) Marco grandson to the Wildwest Gang--Click Here to see some pics.

May 31 Ditto had a bath today so I snapped a few shots of her cute face.  If I can get her to stand still, maybe some body shots will go up later.  I'm not holding my breath on that so don't you either!

May 30: I have added some pages for dogs we have owned, bred or loved.  See The Shelties page for links.

April 30 Wildwest Besos de Shelgrande wins the Bred-By-Exhibitor class at the Canadian Shetland Sheepdog Association National Specialty. Ole's daughter, Shelgrande Kiera at Galenabay wins her class (12 - 18 months female) as well!!

April 3: Wildwest Besos de Shelgrande is now CKC pointed!! Today she was Winners Bitch & Best of Winners for 5 pts! WOHOO!!!
